Three-panel cedar driveway gate and privacy fence
A 13 ft driveway opening closed with three hinged cedar leaves on heavy hardware with wheels, built to match a new 6 ft privacy fence.
The problem
A wide driveway opening at the back of the lot with no gate, and an old fence that had seen better days. The owners wanted to close the yard off for the kids and the dog without a gate that would sag.
What we built
A new 6 ft cedar privacy fence with post caps, and a three-panel driveway gate across the 13 ft opening. Each leaf is cross-braced and hung on heavy hinges off 6x6 posts set deep in concrete, with wheels so the leaves roll rather than drag.
The result
A gate that closes square with one hand, and a yard the dog cannot leave.
Before and after
Drag the handle.
