Lattice-top fence, entry arbor and arched gate
A collapsed lattice fence replaced with a 6 ft lattice-top cedar fence on a timber tie base, with a cedar arbor over the entry stairs and an arched gate.
The problem
The old lattice fence along the side yard had fallen apart, and the ground sloped away so the bottom of the fence sat in the dirt. The owners wanted a proper entrance from the front.
What we built
A row of 6x6 landscape ties to level the base, then a 6 ft cedar fence with a 12 in lattice top following the slope of the brick path. At the front, a flat-top cedar arbor over the stairs with lattice sides, and an arched cedar gate under it on black hardware.
The result
A side yard that is private and dry at the base, and a front entrance that looks like it was always there. We went back a year later and the fence had settled into a soft grey with nothing moved.
