Horizontal cedar fence, planters and seating
An old grey fence out, and a whole back yard in horizontal cedar: fence, built-in planters, benches and a screen around the patio.
The problem
A tired grey fence around a city back yard, with nowhere to sit and nothing growing. The owners wanted privacy from the lane, planting along the fence, and a patio that felt finished.
What we built
A horizontal cedar fence on 4x4 posts in concrete, with built-in planters running along the base and the top of the terrace, cedar benches in the corners, and a cedar screen beside the seating area. Everything shares posts, so it reads as one build.
The result
A back yard the owners use every evening. Privacy from the lane, planting along the fence, and seating that does not take up any lawn.
