Cedar fence above the water
A 6 ft cedar privacy fence around a waterfront back yard, built to take the wind off the water.
The problem
A back yard on the water with nothing between it and the wind. The owners wanted privacy from the neighbours without losing the view at the end of the lot.
What we built
A 6 ft cedar privacy fence down both sides of the lot, on 4x4 posts set deep for the wind, with the post spacing tightened and the frame stiffened. The end toward the water left open.
The result
Privacy down the sides, the view straight ahead, and a fence that does not move when the wind comes off the water.
