Cedar stairs, fence and custom gate
A rotten lattice fence and gate replaced in cedar in the spring, then the grey deck stairs rebuilt in cedar and stained in the summer.
The problem
The side yard fence had gone black and soft, with the gate hanging off it. The stairs off the deck were grey, uneven and soft at the bottom. The owners wanted it all in cedar, to match the house.
What we built
In April, a 6 ft cedar fence with a lattice top along the side yard and a custom gate set into it, on 4x4 posts in concrete. In July, new cedar stairs and landing on new stringers with a railing to code, then stained a warm cedar tone once the wood had dried.
The result
Stairs you can trust your weight on, a railing you can grip, and a fence and gate that match.
